Solar Photovoltaic Systems

Solar PV systems are commonly known as solar systems or solar panels and are usually installed on rooftops. Solar panels capture energy from the sun’s rays and convert it to electricity for use in your business. An inverter, part of the system, converts the DC electricity from the panels to AC power identical to the mains power.

There are several benefits to solar energy.  As well as producing clean green energy from the sun, which reduces the carbon footprint of your business, solar systems help reduce rapidly rising energy costs and increase the value of the property.

Large net-feed-in tariff solar PV systems, which are less dependent on government rebates and regulations, are more attractive for the business owner. Ideally a net-feed-in tariff solar PV system will only offset the electricity used in a commercial building. This is quite important as the cost of electricity is rising.  As well as the price increases of the past, IPART has released reports stating that the total cost of electricity will increase by 36% to 61% between 2010 and 2013. This means that a 40 kW solar PV system will pay back in 5.7 to 8.2 years depending on the final price of electricity (STCs estimated at $22 each) (see adjacent graph)

At Blue Green Engineering, we offer a comprehensive and complete service for your business: we send a highly accredited and qualified engineer to inspect your property and provide a free quote. If you decide to go on with the project, Blue Green Engineering’s design team will design the system and our highly accredited and qualified installers, always supervised by our engineering team, will install the system. Upon completion of the installation, Blue Green Engineering will handle installation of the solar meter, connection of your system and rebate paperwork on your behalf. Finally, Blue Green Engineering offers full after-sales support including raising warranty issues on your behalf. The quoted price that will be offered at our initial meeting includes all of the above-mentioned services: design, full installation, grid connection and solar metering, and after-sales support and service.
